Regulations for the Use of Drones in Chirripó
According to the current regulations of the La Amistad Pacific Conservation Area, flying a drone in Chirripó National Park is allowed under certain conditions. Here are the most important requirements:
- Obtain a license issued by Civil Aviation.
- Have a confirmed reservation to enter the park.
- Submit a sworn statement at registration (it does not need to be notarized), in which you commit to following the established regulations.
It is crucial that, under no circumstances, you leave the official trails of the park while using your drone.
Respecting Wildlife and Visitors in Chirripó
In addition to following the rules, you must respect the privacy of visitors and the protected wildlife within the park. Always maintain proper behavior to ensure that your actions do not endanger your safety or that of others.
Most importantly, never disturb the park’s wildlife while flying your drone.
Additional Requirements for Drone Use in Chirripó
- Make sure to print two copies of the declaration. One will be submitted during registration, and the other will serve as your stamped receipt of approval.
- If you are entering the park via the San Jerónimo Route, you must submit your request at least two weeks in advance via email to receive official approval.
Can I Fly a Drone Without a License in Chirripó?
No. Small drones that do not require a license and cannot meet the requirements mentioned above will NOT be allowed in Chirripó National Park.
